Found it a little unprofessional that some spelling errors were found in the application. Example: Plaese Wait (found when needed to wait for the application to load).

Great app if youre studying in human kinetics or anatomy. The price is quite steep at first glance, but the interface, detail and simplicity are worth the price.
This is an excellent app for learning the muscle system. You can strip the muscle layers right down to the skeleton, one layer at a time. In addition, it shows you how muscles bend and contract in movement. Theres a searchable index, muscle chart, smart body navigation, identifying pins, etc. This isnt a kiddy app, this is the real deal. If they could add some limited posing options and more control over rotation angles, I woud give it a 5 out of 5. Could be a popular resource for artists with a few tweaks.
Overall a nice app. I think navigating around the interface could be more flexible. When selecting a muscle from the index, itd be nice if the muscle could be highlight instead of just a pin. Some of the deeper muscles can be hard to follow.
This app in very helpful if reviewing your antomy also great to show patients regarding muscle action and stretches for rehab or massage relevant treatment goals. over all awesome.
We dont even have time to see and read the correct answer!!! You can rapidly read it, but you dont have time to process it, and trying to remember/studying it; it goes right away to the next question!! Fix this or add a button that we can click when "WE" are READY to go to the next question.
Lots of flash and great images, but little functionality. - Cant select an individual muscle to view by itself (to see how it attaches on the bones w/out other muscles to crowd the view) - Often times the muscle you want to see is at the edge of the pane its in so that the muscle ends up going off the screen instead of being centered for you to view. In other words, you end up having to see the muscle in segments: the bottom half as it is shown going off the screen, and then click to scroll up and it jumps right to the next pane, only to show you the other half of the muscle that was cut off, so you never get a full view of the muscle and it wont allow you to centre it on your screen for a better view - the organization of the options: media, quizes, index is so poor that its hard to find all the resources it offers to view one muscle. You should be able to type in the muscle you want to see, and it should show you in the same frame all the options available to view that muscle in one place, rather than having you jump all over the place to find all the options. - some muscles are missing - would be nice if it included, or if they did another app, that showed all the bones along with their landmarks - takes a long time to load and quit and can freeze your computer in the process
Badly made, poor in functions and useless for studying, there are many free 3d atlas that work better!
The larger the screen the more amazing the graphics look. I am finding this app so useful it has made my study time so much more enjoyable and productive. I have already shown your apps to all of my classmates and almost all now own at least one version. Great work and thanks.
The application wont fill the screen. As a result, a lot of panning is often necessary because the application uses at most ¼ to ⅓ of a single monitor. The scalpel is not intuitive and often excises more than is desired.
This app is alright, but it is really hard to maneuver, and sometimes the controls are unresponsive. Also, You cannot pick which muscles you want to dissect. You click the scalpel button and it removes a preset layer of muscles. Its a pretty good review other than that.
The controls could use a little more work. "Pocket Body" on the iPad and iPhone is much better. I would like to see nerves! 4/5 overall.
I love that this program has finally come to the mac app store. However, my biggest issue is that the image resolution is very low. Therefore, using this program on a larger screen isnt as appreciable. This is also an issue with the other 3D4Medical mac apps. It would be nice to have a lion compatible full screen mode so that you can study without other distractions in the backgroud. Hopefully this is in the works. Other than that, this program seems to serve its purpose, allows you to quiz yourself, check muscle info, add you own pins (very important feature)!! The controls are a little awkward to use but its nothing that a few minutes of repetitive use cant fix.
Ive found this app to be an excellent reference tool. The amazing 3D rendering allows me to visualize the muscle system and is especially helpful when reviewing before practical examinations. Detailed information on each muscle and the ability to add notes, make this a must have for anyone in training.
This App is really really awesome in terms of the anatomical take. The 3D views and the ability to cut away, and the information on each muscle is great! It is a very helpful study tool and is a must for anyone studying this field. However, it is greatly lacking functionality and ease of use on the Mac. Here are some problems I have run into. 1. Glitches while using the quiz feature. It will do the first couple of questions right, then it will start glitching and I have to close out of the quiz after a couple of questions. 2. The app needs to run in full screen mode, or at least in one window, it is very annoying having to click between tool bars to activate them. 3. There need to be swipe gestures added or at least perfected in the current version. 4. It would be nice to have multiple "my pins" tabs instead of one long list. 5. There needs to be a way to activate just "my pins" instead of having all pins show up on the model. 6. Pins should stay even when changing the view or adding or taking away layers. Keep up the good work! Hope to see some of these changes in the future!
pectoralis major and minor, left and right, wont load at all. havent had a problem with other muscles
Positives: -I like the pins, and the detailed information: origin, insertion, action, nerve supply and arterial supply. -I like the ability to rotate the view, even if I have to do it the "slow" way. -I also like the "my pins" feature and the ability to add notes. -It looks great. Negatives: -Freezes frequently during quiz mode. The only way Ive been able to finish a quiz is to turn off the bonus scoring timer. It doesnt allow you to review what youve missed after finishing the quiz. -"Quick" Navigation is temperamental; it requires you to click down on trackpad while moving fingers, sometimes it will scroll when you want it to rotate, rotate when you want to scroll and sometimes it just doesnt work at all. -Limited Superior and Inferior views. Superior view only for Pelvis, Inferior views only for Head and Feet.
… when you look up a muscle, it sometimes places the "pin" indicator on the muscle where you can barely view it. I.e. a pin shown from the lateral view when the muscle is in full view on the posterior side. When you rotate the image, the pin goes away and youre left guessing. Another muscle where this happens is the Trapezius, for example. It shows you the muscle from the front of the model, but its actually a back muscle. So thats my first major complaint. Another one is sometimes the thing just glitches and keeps loading image after image in quick succession, and the only way to stop it is to Force Quit the program.
Most of the time when I try to zoom in on a muscle, the system keeps zooming to the page over and over again without stopping. I have to Quit and Restart the app each time. Not worth the money yet.
I like all of the features of this app and find the information to be accurate, but Ive also had problems with the app getting caught in a loop and I have to exit the app. Ive contacted their customer service and have been told that an update to fix the issue is going to be released very soon. Apparently, the update will also introduce a brand new interface, a Full Screen mode, and enhanced features similar to that of their iPad product. Ill upgrade my rating if they hold true to their word. UPDATE: I promised up my rating to 5 stars if the above problem was fixed...and it has been. Also, the new features included in this upgrade are great. Thanks!
